John P. Ellbogen Scholarship
Western Wyoming Community College has been selected by the John P. Ellbogen Foundation board of directors to support adult learners with the newly created Ellbogen Opportunity Scholarship: All Students Successful.
Student Eligibility:
- The funding is eligible only for students who enroll in courses prior to the start of the term
- Are 24 years of age or older
- Have demonstrated Wyoming residency for no less than three years immediately preceding the application
- Have completed and filed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the academic year for which they are applying for a scholarship and have unmet financial need
- Preference will also be given to those who have not already earned an associates or higher degree.

- Electrical & Instrumentation, AAS or Certificate
- Plant Operations, AAS or Certificate
- Business Management, AAS
- Business Administration, AS
- Commercial Driver’s License
- Business Information Systems, AAS or Certificate
- Automotive & Alternate Fuels, AAS or Certificate
- Diesel & Heavy Equipment, AAS or Certificate
- Welding Technology, AAS or Certificate
- Business Management, BAS
How to Apply:
- Apply for admission to Western to get your username and password
- Complete the General Scholarship Application, then the additional application for the John P. Ellbogen Scholarship
- Make sure to also complete the current year’s FAFSA
Scholarships are limited to no more than $1500 per student per semester and may be awarded for up to a maximum of two academic years.
Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA) must be completed to provide calculation of cost of attendance (COA) and student must be registered for Fall 2024 semester (registration opens April 10, 2024) to be considered for this scholarship.
Maintenance to keep this scholarship is a 2.5 cum GPA at the end of each term (semester)
