Art Scholarship

This opportunity is a departmental scholarship awarded to art students at Western. The application period is open from December 1st to July 1st for scholarships that will be awarded for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Apply before April 1st to be considered as a priority applicant.

Maintenance to keep this scholarship is a 2.0 cum GPA at the end of each term (semester) and 100% completion of paid credits.

Minimum requirements:

• Majoring in a degree program from the Art Department
• Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher (for continuation for the spring semester)

All applicants are also required to submit:

• An artist statement that should address: 1) What your art means, 2) How you convey that meaning in your artwork, and 3) How your artwork connects to the work of other artists. You may find it useful to talk about artists whose work you admire, or whose work is connected to your work somehow. The statement should be no more than 4 paragraphs.
• Ten example pictures of your artwork.
