Sweetwater Adult BOCES Scholarship
OPEN DECEMBER 1, 2024 FOR SPRING 2025
All Sweetwater County residents (non-traditional 18+ years old) who have lived in Sweetwater County 6 months or longer, have the opportunity to use this scholarship. Proof of In-State residency is required.
Sweetwater High School graduates will automatically receive this scholarship once Western Admissions receives an official, final Sweetwater County High School transcript with graduation date listed.
Any student over the age of 60+ years old would qualify for up to 6 credit hours
*Nursing students are allowed a maximum of (6 semesters) BAS students are eligible for a maximum of (8) semesters.
• Is only available for Western Wyoming Community College classes taken for credit.
• It has been practice that if a student does not complete the number of credits paid for by SBOCES, the student would lose scholarship at the end of the semester. This scholarship will now be reviewed at the end of spring semester with warning semester given at the end of fall semester if student has lower than 2.0 cumulative GPA (see Financial Aid for number of needed credits to continue to be eligible).
• Funds will be returned to SBOCES for any non-attendance
- May use up to (6) credit hours for summer semester
*This scholarship pays $100 per credit hour starting with 1 credit, maximum of 15 credit hours per semester.
Dual/Concurrent and Sweetwater County High School students do not need to apply for this scholarship.
Once we receive confirmation of registered courses through high school (Dual / Concurrent) scholarship will be awarded.
Once Western receives final Sweetwater High School transcript, Sweetwater County high school graduates will be awarded SWHS scholarship.
**The SBOCES Scholarship is available on the contingency that adequate funding has been received in the Western account from the Sweetwater mill levy; Western Wyoming Community College reserves the right to reduce the amount available for the SBOCES Scholarship at any time.
