Superior Student Scholarship Award
This scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen who haven’t attended any other institutions after graduation for Fall 2025.
For the application to be considered, applicants must be current high school seniors, have applied for admission at Western, submit their sixth or seventh semester high school transcripts, ACT scores, their personal letter, and three letters of recommendation. The application deadline is April 1st.
Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA) must be completed to provide calculation of cost of attendance (COA) and student must be registered for Fall 2025 semester (registration opens April 9, 2025) to be considered for this scholarship. **If over awarding happens, certain scholarships will be held (Hathaway, Sweetwater High School BOCES or Out of State as examples)
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be a current high school senior
- Composite ACT score of 27
- Cumulative High School GPA of 3.75 or higher
- Must be FT of at least 12 credit hours
To maintain eligibility, students must maintain a semester 3.5 Cumulative GPA.

After the general application has been submitted this scholarship will be recommended to you based on your responses on the general application or you can find it in the listing of all the opportunities offered by Western, you will then be able to attach and upload copies of your personal letter and letters of recommendation.
